Solar Panels in Sant Joan d'Alacant
Sant Joan d'Alacant is a separate municipality in l'Alacantí, just a few kilometres inland from Alicante — and not the same place as the beach called Playa de San Juan, which belongs to the city of Alicante. It is one of the smallest terms in the area: compact streets, close neighbours and a permanent, year-round population. We design for that, and handle the paperwork with the Ayuntamiento de Sant Joan d'Alacant.
Sun & Climate
This is an inland town without its own coastline, so the limiting factor is rarely the weather — it is the neighbouring building. On a compact plot, a two-storey house next door can cost more production than a few degrees of tilt ever will. The free site visit measures the real horizon and the shading pattern across the day at your own roof before anything is sized.
Year-round households, not holiday homes
With the university hospital and the Miguel Hernández Health Sciences campus in the municipality, much of Sant Joan is permanently occupied rather than seasonal. That changes the economics: consumption is spread across the whole year and continues in the evening, which is exactly the case where storage deserves a serious look — but only if your own bill supports it.

Sant Joan d'Alacant: zones and property types
Sant Joan d'Alacant is one of the smallest municipalities in l'Alacantí and it has no coastline of its own. That single fact shapes almost every solar project here: roofs are close together, plots are modest, and party walls and neighbouring buildings matter more than sea exposure.
- Historic centre and the old Huerta irrigation area. The town grew out of the Huerta de Alicante irrigation network around the Acequia Mayor. The result is a compact street grid with small, often overlooked roofs — shading from adjacent buildings is checked before anything is sized.
- Benimagrell. A former hamlet in the north of the municipality, now an integrated district. Low-rise housing and narrow streets mean access, crane or lift positioning and delivery routes are planned before the installation date.
- Finca Nazaret and the surrounding estate land. Larger plots survive from the historic huerta estates. Here the constraint is usually the building itself — protected or characterful structures need a mounting solution that does not alter the visible roofline.
- Hospital and UMH Health Sciences campus area. The university hospital and the Miguel Hernández Health Sciences campus give this part of town a permanent, year-round residential profile rather than a seasonal one, which changes how a battery is assessed.
- Detached-house streets and semi-detached rows. Much of the municipality is single-family housing with private roofs. These are the straightforward projects — but roof area is finite, so sizing follows your real annual consumption rather than the maximum the roof could hold.
Important: Playa de San Juan (Platja de Sant Joan) is a beach and district of the city of Alicante, not part of the municipality of Sant Joan d'Alacant. If your property address is on the beach front, the Alicante page applies to you.

"The shading from the neighbouring building was measured first, and the layout was adjusted to it rather than pretending it was not there."
